Screening: Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom
Join us for a powerful film screening and interactive Q&A of ‘Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom’ on Sunday, June 15th.
This feature-length documentary follows a deeply personal journey as one man grapples with the legacy of American slavery and the complex relationship between faith and freedom. Traveling across Texas, he uncovers the roots of the Juneteenth holiday and explores the resilience, hope, and courage of the formerly enslaved and their descendants.
Following the 175-minute screening, we will host a brief interactive Q&A to reflect on the film’s themes and their continued relevance today.
This event is presented in collaboration with WOODSY, LLC., the Church of the Messiah Housing Corp., and the Church of the Messiah Detroit.
