Tiff Massey\, a Detroit native and internationally acclaimed artist\, uses her work to honor the rich legacy of Detroit’s Black business and fashion district while exploring themes of identity\, public space\, and ancestral beauty. As we tour Massey’s most ambitious museum installation to date\, we’ll reflect on the ways her work bridges art and community\, paying homage to West African and Black American culture and style. \nAfterward\, we’ll continue the conversation over a delicious meal at Baobab Fare\, a vibrant eatery that embodies the richness of Detroit’s international community. Co-owned by Hamissi Mamba and Nadia Nijimbere\, Baobab Fare invites us to experience the flavors\, stories\, and resilience of immigrants who have found a home in Detroit.
