This was not what I expected. While nostalgia holds this movie hostage, it under-delivers for me as horror or even a thriller. The cameo doesn’t do much for the ill-informed audience so the twist — if you want to call it that — isn’t very twisty. You could guess it if you were looking for it.
The leads have done better work elsewhere. The performances were strained. I just couldn’t see what the big deal was throughout the course of the movie. I expected some haunting thriller was just met with white nonsense.
